Nice

Great shot at DnB, the drums were a little repetitive in the account that there wasn't much variation but maybe that was just me, but the piano and synth lines were right on key bro. I liked it alot. Keep up the good work. btw how many bpm's was this song?

EbonHawk7X responds:

ya, i only used like, 3 drum patterns. this song was made at 170 bpm. glad u liked it, good luck and have fun at what'cha do =D

ok so here's what I got to say about it

I'll start with what I like:
Love the crowd FX in the beginning. Most people use a crowd FX and either make it too long, too short, or too loud but you brought it in and out just right. Also loved the synth's and drums. Everything sounded great and had a real nice quality to it so great job with the mastering and layering. Oh and the "hypnotize" vocal was pimp.

My biggest complaint with this song is that it is very repetitive. The drums virtually the same through the whole song and the melody, while very catchy, is very similar throughout the song as well.

While the song is pretty repetitive, it isn't to the point where it is unbearable and it certainly was not boring. The catchy-ness and quality of the production definitely makes up for it so good job.

Thanks!
glad you thought the crowd was "just right."
my mastering skills are not that great so Im very happy you thought it was well done.
I liked the hypnotize vocal aswell :D!

On the other hand... the drums are the same through the whole song like you said... Im not very creative when it comes to drums...
I usually put them in as more of a metronome to keep the beat.

Hearing the word quality associated with my work makes me feel like I accomplished something good... So thank you very much for the review. it was very helpful!

Nice, the title sets this up with a great feel

I love the piano, its quite beautiful, yet dreary, and accented perfectly by those dark, bellowing, echos. It literally sounds like getting sucked into an abyss. And when the filtered drums came in, oh god...that was tight. Might as well mention the choir woman sounds were fantastic and really put this song up on another level.

I thought you hated using samples straight from Nexus and VECS thought? I have no complaints with it though...please make more like this.

And is that whales I hear in the background sometime after 3 minutes or so?

Karco responds:

Not much to respond to here... though you should know that I don't like using samples RAW. I usually tweak/layer/FX/etc. my sounds beyond recognition. :D

And those could be whales. :) Really it was just some Nexus FX, that I filtered (along with some other minor FX).

Thanks for the review, glad you liked it!

Excellent choice of synths

Nice job, I don't know if you made the synths or chose them from a premade list but watev the composition was still excellent. A little repetitive with the drums, but absolutely loved both the breakdown/DnBish parts. Also the change at 1:03 was kinda sudden, but overall this song was pretty damn good! keep it up.

Thanks for the quick reply to my newest project. I spent a long time making my own custom settings for these synths and now that I listen to it, they sound nothing like the presets that I origionally started with. I try to customize as much as I can in my music because anyone can buy EJay and make a song but getting into the nitty gritty is what makes it so unique. I understand what your saying about the drums. I think I fell in love with them though and thats why you hear so much of the regular techno beat. I tried to get something else going but "Hey!" this is still being worked on so any feedback is positive feedback. I'll work on some better transitions before I publish the final product. "I'm thinking maybe a little bit of some mute sequences!" I'm still not sure though on which melodies I want to use in this song. I might get rid of a couple.

ok...

my one suggestion would be to turn up the levels some...especially the drums...and the piano line was a bit repetitive. The pads were good though, but sometimes they dropped out and I felt they should have stayed in. Keep it up though, still a decent song, especially like the intro.

Deathadder99 responds:

Sorry bout volumes i use freeware and it limits the volumes. Its all maxed out :(

Pretty song

not much variation though...but still def an enjoyable song to listen to.

eh...

sorry bro...maybe for me I guess this song just wasn't doing it. It was way to repetitive and while you had a nice drum track it didn't sync to the rest of the effects very well especially in the beginning.

BlackVen0m responds:

It was late at night when I made this, couldn't stand doing to much to this song... I didn't want to start again and iv'e been busy as hell. I just had to make it as long as possible and just get it over with... But i hope to make much better stuff later! :)

Not bad, not bad at all

Had a real reminiscent 80's feel to it which I liked...I don't know if I would consider this ambient, but thats probably the closest description to it so whatev. A nice filter on the drums too, but the drums get over powered to the point where I can barely hear them once the lead comes in so may want to either crank up some levels or work on your mastering. I like the main synth line, but it gets pretty repetitive as it travels through the whole song. One more thing, I like the idea of throwing the yells in as this song is called tribal yell but consider the placement of them, a couple seemed pretty random and the one at 1:27 felt unnecessarily long, it was just kinda distracting from the rest of the song because of how long it was.

Overall its a good solid work that could use a bit of tuning up though.

Thanks alot for the review, the drums are actually supposed to get over run, thats how I wrote that part. I do realize that alot of the mixing is a bit off, thats my biggest weakness when it comes to making music though, so its something im going to have to learn to fix. As for the yell at 1:27, thats more of a battle yell, like an ancient army running to the fight, then after that there is the calm before the storm. Thanks again for the review, ill work on it :)

Nice

I gotta say, the title really says it all here. Feels like you're in a calm field with a bunch of butterflies or could even relate to the way someone gets butterflies when someone sees the person he or she loves.
Awesome overall, very relaxing and heartwarming.

Thanks for the review :)

Wow...really nice song

Loved the warm pads and DnB style drums over it...it's surreal sounding almost!
I can see why Darthfett feels why the transition at 2:30ish is a little odd...to me it just sounded as if the song was going to end there because everything drops out for a couple seconds...don't get me wrong its not bad and its all up to you as the author as this is your creative piece of work which I thoroughly enjoyed. Anyway im giving this a 5/5 and a 10 so great job and keep up the unique tracks

NathanRain responds:

Thank you, I appreciate the input.

I guess that was meant more as a transition but the layering was so minimal that it just didn't work as i had hoped. Perhaps that's just a lesson for me to take into account in the future.

Anyhow, thank you for the input.
